Sunny days are back, and people like strolling along the beaches of Barcelona. During the warmer months, ephemeral bars and restaurants built directly on the sand are full all throughout the day. Here is a screen which hides the utility room of one of these businesses.
This is a picture I took a few years back in the Sarrià neighborhood. On some quiet streets of Barcelona, people who live on the ground floor actually grow plants and flowers in pots they keep just outside their door.
Boasting more than 245 parks and gardens, Barcelona is definitely greener than most capitals. In addition, strollers can admire flowered balconies, and tree-filled patios all over the city.
Since time immemorial, artists have been drawn to Barcelona where light has a special quality which makes everything look more attractive, including the most unlikely urban details. In the capital city of Catalonia, beauty is everywhere.
This week I have taken out my Mexican glasses to view the bursting colors of spring decking the buildings of the Poblenou area. But you know as well as I do that Barcelona is just as beautiful in black and white!
