This is not a beach. That blue area is not the sea either. It is not the sun that is rising or setting in the horizon. You will find this abstract landscape in Can Ricart, an old textile factory of the Sant Martí district which is being totally refurbished.
In Barcelona, works of art are everywhere. Not only statues of past centuries, but also contemporary art pieces. The Sants neighborhood is quite rich in this aspect. We can see a sculpture here which can be found right next to the Plaça de Sants subway station.
Here is a picture I took in October in the Vallvidrera Tibidabo Las Planas neighborhood. I intend to go back there to see what this tree looks like in spring. Barcelona is beautiful all year round.

This picture of papyrus plants was taken in one of the numerous Montjuïc gardens. Try to guess which one? Tip: there you can see a cattle egret which behaves like it owns the place.
Sunny days are back, and people like strolling along the beaches of Barcelona. During the warmer months, ephemeral bars and restaurants built directly on the sand are full all throughout the day. Here is a screen which hides the utility room of one of these businesses.
